Riemann surface, in ChromaDepth stereo!

A blast from the past - this is a t-shirt design that Mary-Margaret and I submitted towards the SIGGRAPH '98 T-Shirt Contest, it won first place :) Shown is an entry about this, from Mary-Margaret's site (click on the pic to bring up a bigger version).

Borromean rings

These are quite interesting..

Here is an animation:



The color scheme employed is that of a ChromaDepth palette. The scheme makes it possible to create 3D (stereo) imagery for viewing with special prism (diffraction) glasses. But a lot of times stereo can be perceived even w/o glasses by looking intensely at the images long enough :)
